Kendel Waterkamp Biography
Kendel was born and raised in St. Paul; she is a graduate of St. Paul Public Schools and is a graduate of the University of Saint Thomas and William Mitchell College of Law. Kendel has over seven years of legal experience which encompasses project/program management and four years of litigation experience. Six of her seven years she was employed at the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. As a former Special Assistant Ramsey County Attorney she had the opportunity to author policies, procedures, and guidelines for attorneys and program personnel in the area of Child Support Enforcement and specialized in state and federal conflict of law issues. Kendel also had the opportunity to serve as a neutral third party, often informally mediating settlements between petitioners and respondents. While at the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, Kendel also had the opportunity to work in the areas of Juvenile Prosecution, Appeals, and Civil Commitments. After leaving the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office Kendel had the pleasure of clerking for the Honorable Gary W. Bastian in the Second Judicial District where she was able to expand her knowledge base of the litigation system.
Kendel has happily joined Williams Divorce and Family Law in September of 2011 where she is excited to share her experiences and insight from the public sector with her clients. She also hopes to be a stable and reliable resource for her clients as they progress through the dissolution, child support, or other family law processes.
In her down time Kendel makes it a point to spend time with her husband, parents and brother. When the weather is right she also likes to hit the road on her motorcycle or just go for a nice long run. One thing you can always be sure of is the fact that she has to make time for a good book, if only for five minutes each night.
